• On February 14, the European Parliament (EP) adopted his final report on the CIA’s secret activities in Europe.
• In January-February, German and Italian judges launched arrest warrants (Germany), or even charges (Italy) against agents of the CIA.
• Mid-January, Romano Prodi’s green light to the extension of the US base of Vicenza came as a prelude to the governing majority’s troubles.
